Board of Education Meeting/Public Hearing

East Quogue Community,

I hope all is well. As we prepare to welcome all of our families, students, faculty, and staff back to school on September 2, I wanted to provide you with a few important updates regarding the upcoming school year.

The Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on August 24 at 7:00 PM. Prior to the start of the meeting, the District will hold a brief District-Wide Safety Plan Public Hearing. The hearing will provide an opportunity for our community to learn about and provide input regarding recent New York State requirements related to sudden cardiac arrest emergencies and cardiac emergency response planning under Desha’s Law. During the Board of Education meeting, we will also discuss the District’s 2026–2027 school year goals and our priorities for the upcoming year.

In addition, New York State has established requirements for the new school year regarding water safety and drowning prevention. As part of these requirements, school districts are required to share and post information for families and the community regarding drowning prevention, water safety, and safe and healthy swimming.
