Science Fair - Calling All Scientists!

Posted Date: 02/05/26 (04:11 PM)

Hi East Quogue!

It's that time of year again! Ms. Luckingham and I have been around to most classrooms and will be seeing the rest of the classrooms that we missed tomorrow. Our EQ Science Night will be Wednesday, April 1st from 6:30-7:30 pm.  This year it has been planned on a Family First night so you can all come and enjoy some great projects and experiments together.  Here are a few important pieces of information for you to know:
1 - The science fair is optional for Kindergarten through 4th grade.
2 - It is mandatory for 5th and 6th graders. Your child's teacher(s) will be going over the requirements with them in the coming days.
3 - If your child is participating, their Project Title Sheet is due to myself or Ms. Luckingham by next Friday, February 13th. The Project Title Sheet is the last page in the Science Fair packet.  A copy will be given to every 5th and 6th grader.
4 - If your child is in K-4 and would like to participate, you can have your child ask their teacher for a copy or you can send their teacher a message requesting one on Parent Square.
5 - The packets mentioned above are attached below in both English and Spanish if you would like to print one at home.
6 - During our nighttime science fair all of our student projects will be displayed.  Kid's Choice Award winners and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be announced at the end of the evening.
7 - There will be fun and exciting hands on activities for you and your family to participate in, run by EQ teachers!

If you have any questions about the EQ Science Fair please feel free to message one of us. We are looking forward to seeing all of your projects!

Thank You,
Jackie Alessi & Jen Luckingham
