May: Courage

Posted Date: 05/01/26 (09:00 AM)

In May, our Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) focus will be Courage. Students will learn that courage isn’t just about being brave in big moments—it also means trying new things, speaking up, and doing what is right even when it feels difficult.
You can help build courage at home by encouraging small, everyday brave moments. A few simple ideas include:

  • Celebrating trying new things, even when the outcome isn’t perfect.
  • Talking about brave choices, like standing up for others or admitting a mistake.
  • Modeling courage by sharing times when you felt nervous but tried anyway.
These experiences help children grow confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self. Thank you for partnering with us as we support your child’s social and emotional development!
Warmly,
